VCE VET Courses

VCE VET Courses are vocational studies approved by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority as appropriate for senior secondary school students. VCE VET programs lead to nationally recognised qualifications, thereby offering students the opportunity to gain both the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and a nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificate, usually at Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level II or III. Some VCE VET programs offer more than a single qualification outcome.

VCE VET courses provide an opportunity to develop a large range of work related competencies. Work placement may be required to assist the student to gain industry specific knowledge, skills and experience in real working conditions.

For more information about VCE VET programs visit the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority website www.vcaa.vic.edu.au

VCE VET programs provide different contributions to the calculation of a student’s Equivalent National Tertiary Entrance Rank (ENTER). Where a Study Score is available, it can be included in the student’s primary four studies or included as a 10% increment if it is the fifth or sixth ranked subject, for ENTER calculations. The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) is responsible for calculating a student’s ENTER. Further information is available on the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority Website at: www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vet/programs.
